Agave Grill - Westboro

The other day, I went to lunch with a colleague to Agave. The restaurant was recommended by him, and I just said yes out of pure easy-goingness. Having never heard of the restaurant, I didn’t really care - I’m quite easy when it comes to lunch food.

And I thank heavens every day I agreed to go to this delicious, fresh and amazing restaurant.

If there’s one thing I love in the world, it’s salsa picante (hot sauce) in any variation. Whether it be salsa verde, tabasco, habanero sauce, crushed peppers, powdered peppers, if it’s coming from a latin country I’ll likely enjoy it.

Agave’s sauces, however, are next level delicious. I emptied the whole bowl of salsa, and embarrassingly enough, I wanted more. The dishes are a mix between what you would expect to see in California… a Mexican based dish but with the freshness you would expect to see in California in terms of bread & salads.

I had the California Sandwich the first time I went - a grilled chicken with guacamole, lettuce, tomato and jalapeno mayo on a kaiser bun - with sweet potato fries and salad. It was… in-cre-di-ble.

My second time around, I brought LaVaughn with me. After hearing me salivate over the California Sandwich, he went with that, and I chose the enchiladas - delicious as well, but I still recommend the California Sandwich.
